Great conversation. I like that you don't push a strongly opinionated ideological agenda. Despite Trump's weird 19th century aversion to the causes of human rights, democracy, and global rules, not every single thing he does is awful. It's possible that if the US had put the Venezuelan opposition in charge right now, as some are demanding, this could lead to more bloodshed and suffering than a more gradual transition to a system of laws.

Ms. Labott, a good analysis of things that could go wrong. Mr. Abrams seemed to have a balanced view. It is yet to be seen if those with authority can get a stable and free Venezuela built. The United States does have some success in that kind of thing--Japan. Maybe a refresher course is needed. Take care.
